1. Basic Training.
A. Every member, regardless of previous rank in former command, level, or experience must start at the basic training level of the command.
B. During the “pre-game” stage promotion out of basic training will simply consist of posting your name, desired flight, desired “class”, and acknowledging that you would like to join the 112th Stargate Expeditionary Force and have read the Rules, Roles of the Flight, and studied the Chain of Command.
C. During the “game” stage promotion out of basic training will consist of obtaining at least level five (5) and approval from the Alfa Training Flight Commander or the 95th SES Commander. Airmen Basic will also be expected to have at least one (1) meeting with a trainer to explain the guild function and rules. They will also be required to fulfill requirements set in section B of the Basic Training section.
D. Upon completion of basic training the Airman Basic will receive promotion to either Airman or Airman First Class, and be assigned to a flight. The Alfa Training Flight Commander may promote to Airman or Airman First Class. The 95th SES Commander will promote further, and designate a flight. Completion of Basic Training will also result in the awarding of the Basic Training Ribbon.
E. Possible future expansion of Basic Training may include OCS or
2. Military Etiquette Training
A. Every member that does not have military background must take this course provided by the proper trainer.
B. Successful completion of this course will result in the awarding of the Military Etiquette Training Ribbon, and possible promotion up to, but not beyond, the rank of Senior Airman.
C. The Squadron Commanders reserve the right to change, modify, or edit the content of the training that is being provided by the ME trainer.
3. Ranks and Command.
A. Chain of Command will be expected to be followed by every guild member – EX - No Airmen immediately asking a Lieutenant questions. The Airman should report to his Flight Sergeant, if flight sergeant is not available then he may go up the chain until question is answered.
B. “Customs and courtesies” will be expected from every guild member while in game.
i. Saluting Commissioned Officers while out doors
ii. Using “sir” “sergeant” or other formal titles
iii. Only exception is during missions or during Command Meetings and on the online forums.
C. Group Commanders are allowed to promote up to the rank of Major. Group Commanders are typically Colonels. They are responsible for the well being and security of their assigned squadrons. Group Commanders report directly to the Wing Commander and/or the President. They are the “leaders” of the command and their orders are to be followed. Group Commanders may invite players into the command, accept players into basic training, finalize completion of basic training, assign flights, set command meeting dates/times, accept ally commands, and approve missions (PVP).
i. The “Group Commander” position is reserved for the Current Squadron Commanders – Ump and Slingshot – for future expansion of the Command. Should this happen the Group Commanders are entitled to create two (2) more squadrons and thus four (4) more flights, and promote any member that shows the leadership to the rank of Major to fill the squadron commander positions.
D. Squadron Commanders are allowed to promote to the rank of Lieutenant. Squadron Commanders are typically Majors. They are responsible for the well being and security of their assigned flights. They are the “upper tier” of the command, and orders are to be adhered to. They report directly to the Group Commanders. Squadron Commanders may invite players into the command, accept players into basic training, finalize completion of basic training, assign flights, set command meeting dates/times, accept ally commands, and approve missions (PVP).
E. The Inspector General is not allowed to promote. The IG is typically a Captain. The purpose of the IG is to ensure that the players with-in the command feel at ease and not controlled. The IG is “out side” of the chain of command. Any player may come to the IG with any comments or concerns they have about the command or their leadership. The IG reports directly to the Squadron Commanders. The Inspector General may invite players into the command.
F. Flight Commanders are allowed to promote to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Flights Commanders are typically Lieutenants. They are responsible for the well being and security of their assigned flight members. This is the highest in the flight level a member can achieve. They report directly to the Squadron Commanders. Flight Commanders may invite players into the command, accept players into basic training, finalize completion of basic training (only Alfa Training Flight Commander), and have limited ability to approve missions (PVP).
G. First Sergeants are at the highest tier of the NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) ranks. They typically hold the rank of Master Sergeant. They report directly to Flight Commanders. First Sergeants are unable to promote. They are responsible for the well being and security of their assigned flights. First Sergeants can invite players into the command, accept players into basic training, and have limited ability to approve missions (PVP).
H. Flight Sergeants have reached the NCO tier. Flight Sergeants typically hold the rank of Staff Sergeant. They report directly to the flight commander. Flight Sergeants are unable to promote. Flight Sergeants may invite players into the command.
I. Flight Technicians are responsible for increasing their knowledge and abilities through actively participating with the command, and its allies on missions and other occasions. Flight Technicians are unable to promote. Flight Technicians may invite players into the command.
J. The ranks of the command are as follows (from highest to lowest) – Colonel, Major, Captain, Lieutenant, Master Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, Senior Airman, Airman First Class, Airman, Airman Basic.
4. Promotions.
A. A member may be promoted from Airman and above based on a combination of the following – Performance, in game level, command activity, training, recommendations, commendations, “off line” activity (IE Forum Activity), recruiting, participation, and others.
B. A member may be promoted from Airman Basic to Airman or Airman First Class based on a combination of the following – Performance in Training, a minimum of level five (5), active on the command forum, posting their name, desired flight, desired class, and acknowledge the fact you have read this document and the other documents and are wanting to join the 112th SEF, active in game successful completion of Basic Training.
C. Promotions through the Airman ranks are held by their Flight Commander and a Squadron Commander. Any other member of the command may attend the promotion ceremony along with any people they would like to invite to attend. Promotions through the NCO ranks (Staff Sergeants and above) are announced to the command but are not required for attendance. Any members of the command may attend the ceremony along with any people they would like to invite to attend. Promotions to Commissioned Officers (Lieutenants and above) are announced to the command and are required for attendance by all members of the command. This is a formal ceremony for only command members and close friends.
i. If a member of the command is unable to attend a required ceremony they must send a memo to their flight commander and squadron commander.
5. LOAs, Demotion, and Dismissal.
A. If a member is not respecting the chain of command, customs and courtesies, has performed an infraction (such as disrespecting fellow members, ally commands, or causing problems for Flight Commanders and above) or are inactive in the command they will receive a Letter of Admonishment, or LOA, stating their infraction and future punishment if the problem is not solved. A member may receive up to two (2) LOAs depending on severity of infraction.
i. Only Flight Commanders (with the approval of Squadron Commanders) and above may write LOAs.
B. If the maximum amount of LOAs is received (2) then the member will be demoted. If the member is a Commissioned Officer they will be demoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant without title (IE If they where a Flight Commander at Lieutenant they will be demoted to Staff Sergeant but not gain a title of Flight Sergeant). If the member is a NCO they will be demoted to the rank of Airman First Class. If the member is a Senior Airman or Airman First Class they with be demoted to the rank of Airman. A member may only be demoted once before dismissal.
i. Only Squadron Commanders and above can demote
C. If the member has been demoted and problems still persist the member will be dismissed from the command. If the member was an Airman at the time of 2nd LOA they will be dismissed from the command.
i. Only Squadron Commanders and above can dismiss a member from the command.
D. Squadron Commanders and above reserve the right to dismiss any member for any reason if they see fit.
6. PvE vs PvP
A. Any member of the guild is authorized to enter combat in a PvE environment, if he or she is threatened or it is apart of a mission designated by a ranking member, or through the USAF (NPC given missions).
B. As of this date, 25 Feb 08, it has been rumored that conflicts can be resolved out side of combat. If there is an option not to use force it is encouraged.
C. In a mission (PvP) combat is not authorized unless given by the ranking officer at that time (NCO or above).
i. A player may enter PvP combat if there is an instanced zone specifically for PvP combat with out authorization
ii. A player may not enter PvP combat out side of an instanced PvP zone unless use of force or threat of use of force is made by an opposing player.
iii. A member of the 112th SEF who initiates PvP combat with out authorization is subject to demotion which may lead to dismissal.
7. Operation Orders (Ops Orders)
A. Ops Orders will be given out once a week from the Squadron Commanders or a designated Flight Commander.
B. The Ops Orders will include weekly information for the command with things such as – Uniform of the week, current mission (PvP) assignments, commendations, promotions, command news, instance run place/times, command meeting times, and command assignments, etc.
i. Each member of the command will be expected to be wearing uniform of the week designated on the Ops Orders during command events, or during designated times set by the Squadron Commanders.
8. Command Instance Runs
A. The command will attempt to run instances at the minimum of once a week. The designated instance will be set by the Squadron Commanders depending on the need of the command. The instance chosen by the Squadron Commanders can range from lower level instances to higher level instances. Times for the runs will also be designated by the Squadron Commanders.
9. Command Meetings
A. Command Meetings will be held at least once a week.
B. At least one command meeting must be attended by all members every two weeks.
C. Meetings will be held at a location designated by the Squadron Commanders and consist of briefings by any of the members on different topics, guild news, commanders briefing, promotions, awards, and status of the guild.
i. Briefings by command members must be submitted at a minimum of one (1) week prior and approved by the Squadron Commanders before they can brief.
10. Awards
A. Awards are given by the Squadron Commanders or higher to all of the members of the command.
B. Any member may recomend another member for an award.
C. Squadron Commanders or above reserve the right to revoke any or all rewards earned by a member.
